Moments of meat being transported under inappropriate conditions in the trunk of a taxi in the Atakum district of Samsun were captured by a mobile phone camera. Following the spread of the footage on social media, teams took action, seizing 152 kilograms of meat and imposing a fine on the business. It was also learned that a criminal complaint would be filed against the business with the prosecutor's office.
This morning, images of a taxi transporting meat in its trunk to a butcher shop in the Güzelyalı neighborhood of Atakum district in Samsun were shared on social media.
152 KILOS OF MEAT SEIZED
In response, teams from the Atakum District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry initiated an investigation. The teams that went to the establishment seized 152 kilos of meat through their efforts. It was learned that the meat would be destroyed after examination and that a criminal complaint would be filed against the establishment.
50 THOUSAND TL FINE: ADDITIONAL PENALTY ON THE WAY
Due to the meat being found to be "transported in violation of hygiene rules," the establishment was initially fined 50 thousand TL. It was also learned that an additional penalty of approximately 260 thousand TL is expected to be imposed after the completion of the judicial process.
