The Ministry of Health announced that the Entrance Exam for Specialization in Dentistry and the Entrance Exam for Specialization in Medical Subfields will now be held once a year.

The Ministry of Health announced that the Dental Specialization Entrance Exam (DUS) and the Medical Specialty Entrance Exam (YDUS) will be held once a year.

DUS AND YDUS EXAMS WILL NOW BE HELD ONCE A YEAR

In the announcement on the Ministry's website, it was reminded that it was decided that DUS and YDUS would be held twice a year starting from 2023, and it was stated that this situation is also announced in the exam calendars. It was conveyed that the exams, namely TUS, YDUS, DUS, and EUS, are conducted 7 times a year by ÖSYM, and with the results of these exams, 20 placement processes are carried out, and it was stated that "It is important that the period of candidate placement coincides with the times when the other exam dates are applied, as this causes significant problems."

In the announcement, the following was noted: "With the decision of the Medical Specialization Board dated September 24, it has been decided that DUS and YDUS will be held once a year, while TUS will again be held twice a year. The quotas regarding the number of students to be admitted to the DUS and YDUS exams are being carried out in coordination with the participation of our different units and external stakeholders within the scope of the Ministry's health workforce planning studies, based on scientific foundations. Therefore, there will be no change in the total annual quotas to be opened in the exams due to the fact that the exams will be held once a year. This is respectfully submitted to the public's information."
