PROSECUTOR REQUESTED MAXIMUM SENTENCE

In the fifth hearing held on October 2 at the Anadolu 2nd Children's Heavy Criminal Court, the public prosecutor announced his opinion, requesting that defendants U. B. and B. B. be punished for 'intentional killing of a child', and M. A. D. and A. Ö. for 'aiding in the intentional killing of a child'. The court decided to continue the detention of the defendants and postponed the hearing to October 21 for the parties to prepare their final defenses against the opinion.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST HEARING?

In the 5th session of the trial, two defendants gave statements. Tension arose when the lawyer of one of the newly added defendants presented a disability report from his client's elementary school years to the court. It was learned that the report contained details such as attention deficit and difficulty in speaking. The court, announcing its interim decision, ruled to continue the detention of the four child defendants.

A letter written by defendant B. B. to the other detained defendant U. B. had emerged. In the letter, defendant B. B. wrote, "Is your comfort good? We will lie like lions and get out. Don't worry, you'll be out in a year, we've already been in for 5 months. Endure for another 6-7 months, I love you. Don't get involved with anyone, don't eat any minutes or anything. Don't let any minutes come up against us in court, but don't let anyone push you around either. Settle down there, my father. I have my order here."

FROM THE INDICTMENT

In the indictment prepared by the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it is stated that on January 24, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi went to the historic Tuesday market in Kadıköy with his friends to buy skateboard equipment, and while they were wandering around, they encountered U. B. (15) and B. B. (15), and after a conversation between them, B. B. pushed Minguzzi.

It is stated in the indictment that B. B. punched Minguzzi again as he continued to wander, and the suspect wounded Minguzzi in different parts of his body with a knife in his hand.

The indictment also states that U. B. kicked Minguzzi, who fell to the ground, and after the intervention of nearby citizens, U. B. and B. B. fled, and that Minguzzi, who was taken to the hospital after the incident, died on February 9, 17 days later.

According to the autopsy report obtained from the Forensic Medicine Institution, it is recorded that Minguzzi had 3 stab wounds and a penetrating injury in his chest, and the cause of death was due to internal organ injuries caused by a stabbing attack.

The indictment states that U. B. kicked Minguzzi, and B. B. stabbed him multiple times with a knife he took from the counter, and it is requested that both suspects, who were caught and arrested after the incident, be sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison for the crime of "intentional killing of a child."

As part of the investigation conducted by the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was prepared with a request for consolidation against child defendants M. A. D. and A. Ö., who were determined to have acted with B. B. and U. B. on the day of the incident, for "aiding in the intentional killing of a child," with a request for 15 to 20 years in prison.

With the merging of the files, the number of defendants being tried in the case increased to 4.

MATTIA AHMET MINGUZZİ MURDER

The incident occurred on Friday, January 24, around 08:30 at the historic Tuesday market in Kadıköy. Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, son of Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, reportedly had an argument with a group of cyclists, according to eyewitnesses. As bystanders intervened, the group dispersed, while Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi went to the flea market to shop. While shopping at the market, Minguzzi was allegedly confronted by B.
