A heated debate took place between the host Hande Fırat and Turkish Media's Ankara Representative Melik Yiğitel on the program Gece Görüşü aired on CNN Türk. The discussion, which started regarding President Erdoğan's visit to the USA, saw Yiğitel stating, "You can't paint a picture that Turkey has surrendered to the USA, Hande Fırat!" Fırat responded, "Don't involve me in this, you'll regret it very much."

While discussing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to the USA, Yiğitel reacted by saying, "You can't paint a picture that Turkey has surrendered to the USA, Hande Fırat!"
"DON'T SHOW OFF, DON'T SHOUT, ARE YOU AN ALIEN!"
In response to Yiğitel's words, Fırat replied with, "Don't show off, don't shout." As the tension escalated, Fırat warned, "Don't get involved in this through me, you will regret it!" Yiğitel retorted, "Are you drowning in unnecessary details? Have you formed a sentence about the importance of this meeting?"
"WHO ARE YOU SHOWING OFF TO?"
As the program progressed, the argument grew even larger. Fırat reacted to Yiğitel by saying, "We have formed 50 sentences. Who are you showing off to there? Are you talking to me? As the tension rose, journalist Zafer Şahin intervened, saying, "We are friends. Let's not say things that will hurt each other now," in an attempt to calm the parties down.

During the continuation of the debate, Fırat stated, "Saying something is one thing, insulting is another. Telling lies is another." Yiğitel defended himself by saying, "I am not insulting. This is my opinion." In response to Fırat's words, "It doesn't suit you," Yiğitel replied, "This is my opinion."
