The meteorology department issued a warning for heavy rainfall in some regions of Marmara, the Western Black Sea, and the Aegean. A total of 17 provinces, including Istanbul, have been placed in the risk group with a yellow code.
The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that strong downpours are expected tomorrow in some regions of Marmara, the Western Black Sea, and the Aegean. A yellow code warning has been issued for 17 cities, including Istanbul.
According to forecasts, the weather will be partly cloudy in the northwestern parts of the country. After the evening hours, local showers and thunderstorms will be observed in the surroundings of Antalya, as well as in Marmara, the Western Black Sea, and the northern districts of İzmir. In other regions, the weather is expected to be slightly cloudy and clear.
FOG AND MIST WILL BE OBSERVED
In the morning hours, fog and localized mist are expected in the inland areas of the Black Sea. It is predicted that air temperatures will be 2-4 degrees below seasonal normals in the northern regions, while in other regions, they will be around seasonal normals. The wind is expected to blow lightly from the northern directions, occasionally at moderate strength, and at times reach speeds of 30-50 km/h along the coasts of Marmara and Northern Aegean.
CITIES UNDER YELLOW CODE WARNING
The cities for which the meteorology has issued a yellow code warning are listed as follows:
Aydın, Balıkesir, Bolu, Bursa, Çanakkale, Istanbul, İzmir, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Manisa, Sakarya, Sinop, Zonguldak, Bartın, Yalova, Karabük, and Düzce.
CALL FOR PRECAUTIONS TO CITIZENS
Authorities emphasized that citizens should be careful and take precautions against adverse conditions such as floods, water accumulation, landslides, lightning, and disruptions in transportation.
