Dr. Wan Azizah Ismail, the wife of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, visited the African Handicrafts Market and Cultural House in Ankara. During the visit, which highlighted cultural cooperation, women's labor, and the promotion of African culture, Ismail expressed that she has always been influenced by the work of Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

HIGH-LEVEL NAMES WELCOMED

Dr. Wan Azizah Ismail was welcomed by the Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and the Chairperson of the African Cultural House Board Zeliha Sağlam. The former Turkish Ambassador to Dar es Salaam, Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu, the Head of Public Diplomacy Department of the Presidency of Communications Oğuz Güner, and other guests were also present at the visit.

INSPECTED HANDICRAFTS FROM 41 AFRICAN COUNTRIES

While touring the African House located in Hamamönü, Ismail closely examined handmade products brought from 41 different African countries. Minister Göktaş and Chairperson Sağlam provided information to Ismail about the exhibited works.

As part of the visit, a presentation was made regarding the establishment purpose of the African Handicrafts Market and Cultural House, which was founded in 2016, and the activities it has carried out to date.

MINI CONCERT BY AFRICAN STUDENTS

The short concert performed by African students during the program attracted great interest from the guests. Ismail, who watched the concert with interest, emphasized the rhythmic richness of African culture.

Ismail stated that similar projects are being carried out in Malaysia and highlighted the importance of supporting products produced by women's labor. She pointed out that career women bear double responsibilities and emphasized the importance of women's solidarity.
