According to the World Economic Forum's report, technological advancements and demographic changes are expected to create a total of 78 million net employment opportunities by 2030. However, it is anticipated that 92 million existing jobs will be affected.

It is estimated that by 2030, 78 million net new job opportunities will be created due to changes in global trends in technology, economy, demographics, and green energy transformation.

According to the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Future of Jobs Report 2025, technological advancements, demographic changes, geopolitical tensions, and economic pressures are emerging as driving forces reshaping sectors and professions worldwide. It is projected that these changes and developments will lead to the emergence of 170 million new job opportunities globally. However, it is also anticipated that these changing trends will displace 92 million existing jobs, resulting in a total of 78 million net employment opportunities by 2030.

FASTEST GROWING JOBS IN THE WORLD

Some of the fastest-growing jobs in the world are in technology, data, and artificial intelligence, while growth is also expected in essential economic roles such as delivery, maintenance, education, and agriculture. Among the fastest-growing jobs are agricultural workers, light truck or delivery service drivers, software and application developers, construction and finishing workers, retail salespersons, food processing and related fields, vehicle, van, and motorcycle drivers, nursing, food and beverage service positions.

FASTEST DECLINING JOBS

Among the fastest declining jobs are cashiers and ticket agents, executive assistants and secretaries, building caretakers, cleaners and janitors, material recording and stock clerks, printing and related workers, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll clerks, auditors, transportation and security personnel, and bank tellers.

INCREASING "SKILL GAP"

According to a report that collected data from over a thousand companies globally, the "skill gap" continues to be the most significant barrier to the transformation of the business world. It is estimated that 40% of the skills required for jobs will change, while 63% of employers currently see the skill gap as the most important obstacle they face. Due to the skill gap, more than 120 million workers are at risk of being laid off in the medium term.

TECHNOLOGY AND HUMAN SKILLS

The demand for technological skills in artificial intelligence, big data, and cybersecurity is expected to rise rapidly, while human skills such as creative thinking, flexibility, and agility will continue to be critically important. The coexistence of both types of skills is anticipated to become increasingly important in the rapidly changing job market.

In this context, among the top 10 skills expected to grow the fastest by 2030 are artificial intelligence, big data, networking and cybersecurity, technological literacy, creative thinking, resilience, flexibility, curiosity, lifelong learning, leadership, social impact, talent management, analytical thinking, and environmental responsibility.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS RESHAPING BUSINESS MODELS

According to the report, artificial intelligence is reshaping business models. Half of employers plan to redirect their businesses to target new opportunities brought by technology, while 77% of employers plan to upskill their employees. Additionally, 41% of employers aim to reduce their workforce by automating certain tasks with artificial intelligence. Given the rapid growth of emerging technologies, business leaders, policymakers, and employees need to work together to ensure the workforce is prepared while reducing unemployment risks across sectors and geographies.
