In his post, Yayman stated that he conveyed his best wishes to İlber Ortaylı, who has been experiencing health problems, saying, "Although our teacher İlber worried us for a while, thank God he is doing well; he just needs to rest a bit."
Yayman emphasized that the conversation held during the visit about history and culture was enlightening as always, and he expressed his gratitude for Ortaylı's hospitality and deep knowledge. HIS LAST STATEMENT HAD CAUSED CONCERN
Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı had worried his loved ones with a statement he made about his health condition two weeks ago. In a statement on his social media account, Ortaylı said, "I must confess that this illness I am experiencing has been much more severe than my previous troubles."
Stating that he had to cancel his programs, Ortaylı said, "Unfortunately, upon the advice of my doctors, I had to cancel our meeting at the Kocaeli Book Fair this weekend. I currently do not have the strength to make long journeys and meet you. Additionally, I need to live a somewhat isolated life for a while. I sincerely thank all of you for your understanding and for wishing me healing with your kind words."
