King Charles III of England's brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who lost his titles due to connections with Epstein, was detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The development has caused a seismic effect in the European country, while a photo emerging from the case revealed the extent of the depravity. The photo shows Prince Andrew sending a ball shaped like a breast towards a small child.
Former Prince Andrew, who was arrested on suspicion of public office abuse due to his close relationship with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being prosecuted for establishing a network of sexual exploitation and prostitution of underage girls in the U.S., has been taken into custody.
In a written statement from Thames Valley Police, it was stated, "As part of the investigation, we have arrested a man in his 60s from Norfolk on suspicion of public office abuse, and we are conducting searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The individual is currently being held in police custody."
THEY DID NOT REVEAL HIS NAME
In the statement, it was mentioned that the name of the arrested individual would not be disclosed in accordance with national guidelines, and it was added, "Additionally, please remember that this case is ongoing and that care should be taken in any publication to avoid contempt of court."
"PUBLIC OFFICE ABUSE" INVESTIGATION
Deputy Chief Constable Oliver Wright, whose evaluations were included in the statement, noted: "Following a comprehensive assessment, we have initiated an investigation regarding the allegation of public office abuse. While investigating this alleged crime with our partners, it is important to maintain the integrity and impartiality of our investigation. We know that there is significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time."
SHOCKING PHOTO
On February 19, his birthday, former Prince Andrew was arrested, and while his name has appeared multiple times in the Epstein case, a newly surfaced photo has made headlines.
The photo that emerged from the Epstein documents shows former Prince Andrew playing on the carpet with a small child, with a breast-shaped ball in the child's hands.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's close relationship with Epstein was documented in files released by the U.S. Department of Justice, and Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre claimed that she had a relationship with Andrew, who was a prince at the time, when she was just 17 years old.
Mountbatten-Windsor, who denied the allegations, renounced all his titles, including Duke of York, to avoid harming the Royal Family. However, due to increasing pressure and newly released documents in the last months of the previous year, King Charles also stripped him of the title "Prince." It was also reported during this period that Mountbatten-Windsor had paid a nominal annual rent for the mansion he had been living in since 2003 and had acquired a 75-year usage right for 1 million pounds.
The rental of Royal Lodge was also discussed in Parliament following public backlash against the funding of Royal expenses and Mountbatten-Windsor's costs through taxpayer money. In response to Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey's question, "In light of the revelations regarding Royal Lodge, do you agree to review the Royal Estates to protect taxpayers' interests? Do you support the establishment of an inquiry committee that will call everyone, including the current resident of Royal Lodge, to give evidence?" Prime Minister Keir Starmer replied, "It is important to conduct a proper review regarding the Royal Estates. I absolutely support it."
Under pressure, Mountbatten-Windsor vacated his home at Windsor Castle and moved to a farmhouse on the Sandringham estate, which is personally owned by King Charles. It has also come to light that Mountbatten-Windsor's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, had a friendship with Epstein, and many charities of which Ferguson was the honorary president ended their relationships with the former Duchess of York. The Sarah Foundation, named after Ferguson, which was revealed to have taken her own daughters to Epstein's island, has also decided to close down.
