In Adana, window cleaners have become a nightmare for drivers. After forcibly cleaning the windows, these individuals open the doors and demand money. One driver recorded the incident with a mobile phone.
Young people who clean car windows, causing difficult moments for drivers at almost all traffic lights in the central districts, especially in Yüreğir, Adana, threaten drivers who do not allow them to clean their car windows by scratching their vehicles.
THEY HAVE BECOME A BLEEDING WOUND OF THE CITY
Despite the police and municipal teams taking precautions against this situation, which has become a bleeding wound of the city, it is not enough. The teams detain those they can catch, but generally, the young people see the police and escape into side streets to lose their traces.
THEY FORCE OPEN THE DOORS
In the images shared on social media, many young window cleaners were seen forcing drivers' doors, with some drivers opening their doors and demanding money. Additionally, a person cleaning windows was caught on camera by a driver, which caused a reaction of 'unbelievable'.
"THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY"
Drivers reacted to the window cleaners and wanted the police and municipal teams to put an end to this situation as soon as possible. Aziz Ural, one of the drivers who stated that he was disturbed by the window cleaners, said, "It would be great if the municipal teams did their jobs. They have started to pose a danger. They kick and punch cars. Sometimes we don't feel safe. Female drivers have a harder time. What may be a single incident reported in the media happens every day."
"POLICE AND MUNICIPAL TEAMS SHOULD HELP CITIZENS"
Minibus driver Adnan Yılmaz said, "These window cleaners do not come to us, but we see them constantly, causing difficulties for citizens. The police and municipal teams should help citizens. These individuals also steal women's bags," he stated.
"WE ARE DISTURBED TOO"
Driver Zeki Küçük stated, "Window cleaners sometimes come to us as well. We are disturbed too; when they come, I say 'Don't do it,' and they leave," he expressed.
"THEY HAVE MULTIPLE RECORDS FOR THE SAME CRIME"
On the other hand, police teams, who took action after the images, quickly caught individuals named D.T (24) and M.Y (20). It was learned that the detained suspects would be referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. It was reported that D.T. had been processed 42 times for cleaning windows in traffic, while M.Y. had been processed 8 times.
