The social media account set up to collect donations for 2-year-old Yusuf, who is undergoing treatment for fish scale disease and butterfly disease in Adana, was stolen. Scammers used Yusuf's photos to collect hundreds of thousands of lira and then disappeared. The family, who received no help, filed a complaint, and it was revealed that the scammers mocked the family by saying, "Are you trying to scare me with the prosecutor?"

Musa (45) and Hatice (37) Timuçin, who live in Şanlıurfa, have been diagnosed with butterfly and fish scale disease since birth for their youngest child, Yusuf (2). After receiving treatment at state hospitals in Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır for a while, Yusuf was brought to a hospital in Adana for treatment when no solution was found for his illness.

THE ACCOUNT COLLECTING HELP FOR YUSUF WAS STOLEN

The family, who are in a difficult situation, started sharing their child's photos on social media to collect help, but their accounts were stolen after a while. The photos and videos from the stolen account were shared on other aid pages, and hundreds of thousands of lira were collected in Yusuf's name, but no help reached the family. Additionally, the family was blocked from these accounts.

THEY MADE FUN OF THE FAMILY

Mother Hatice Timuçin reached out to the person who stole her account and said they would file a complaint with the prosecutor's office. The person replied, "Are you trying to scare me with the prosecutor? Does the prosecutor have nothing better to do than deal with a TikTok? What do you think of this state? You must be confused," mocking the family. Following this, the family went to the Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to file a criminal complaint.

"NO HELP HAS REACHED US"

The family, who came to Adana for treatment, shared their grievances. Father Musa Timuçin stated, "They have used my son's photos to collect money, but we have not received any help. We went to the prosecutor's office and filed a complaint. There has been no response, we are waiting for a solution. A woman sent thousands of lira for my child in memory of her deceased father, but even that went to the fraudsters," he said.

"THE PERSON WHO STOLE THE ACCOUNT ASKED US FOR MONEY"

Mother Hatice Timuçin explained that she was mocked, saying, "They stole our TikTok account and our photos. Other accounts shared my son's photo and blocked us. We couldn't see any of this; we only realized it when others told us. I reached out to the person who stole the account, and he mocked me. He also asked for 4,000 lira. Everything is documented, and we have filed a complaint. Currently, there is only one association that is helping us. No one should send money anywhere else," she stated.
