In Gaziantep, a woman who went to exchange gold she borrowed from someone to pay for her child's surgery had her gold stolen by two individuals. The thieves were caught by the police teams after an hour of work.
Two women who stole gold that a woman was taking to exchange in order to pay for her child's surgery, using the pickpocketing method, were caught by police teams after an hour of work. The moments of the two arrested women committing pickpocketing were captured on security cameras.
The incident occurred on January 15 on Gaziler Street in the Şahinbey district. According to allegations, S.B. (45), who wanted to have her child, who had health issues, undergo surgery, borrowed 249 grams of gold from someone else.
THEY STOLE THE GOLD SHE BORROWED FOR HER CHILD'S SURGERY
While S.B. wanted to exchange the gold she borrowed, she was started to be followed by two women while researching prices at jewelers.
The unfortunate woman, who was followed step by step while trying to exchange the 249 grams of gold she borrowed, was cornered by two women named A.G. (24) and A.G. (25), who camouflaged themselves with a shawl, and her gold, worth approximately 1 million 360 thousand TL, was stolen using the pickpocketing method. The suspect women fled the scene immediately after stealing the gold. The moments of the pickpocketing were captured second by second on nearby security cameras.
CAUGHT AFTER 1 HOUR
Teams from the Gaziantep Police Department's Public Order Branch, who scrutinized the camera recordings, examined all the movements of the suspects before and after the incident second by second. In the footage, it was clearly identified that the women, who came with a shawl to commit the pickpocketing, removed their shawls before getting into a vehicle during their escape. It was determined that the suspects tried to conceal their identities using this method.
CAUGHT IN NURDAĞI WHILE TRYING TO FLEE THE PROVINCE
Teams from the Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau started working to capture the identified suspect women. Determining that the women who stole the gold were trying to flee the province, the teams caught the two suspects red-handed in an operation they conducted in Nurdağı. The stolen gold was completely recovered and kept safe to be returned to its owner. The suspect women were arrested by the judicial authorities they were referred to and sent to prison.
