In the village of Asar, located in the Niksar district of Tokat, a 75-year-old man sleeping in a room with a barbecue lost his life, while his wife was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state.
In the incident that occurred in Asar village of Niksar district in Tokat, relatives who had not heard from Emrullah Keskin (75) and his wife Ünzile Keskin for a long time went to their home to check on them. Relatives found the elderly couple motionless in their beds and immediately reported the situation to the authorities.
COUPLE FOUND MOTIONLESS
Upon the notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Health teams determined that Emrullah Keskin had passed away during their examination. Ünzile Keskin, who was unconscious, was taken to Niksar State Hospital for treatment after the initial intervention at the scene.
SUSPECTED CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING
In the bedroom, a grill containing extinguished coals was found. Initial assessments suggest that the couple was poisoned by carbon monoxide gas leaking from the grill they brought into the room to warm up.
AUTOPSY TO BE PERFORMED
The body of Emrullah Keskin, who lost his life, was taken to the morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. It was reported that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
