Philippines Civil Defense Office Spokesperson Junie Castillo reported that 12 people have lost their lives due to heavy rains, floods, and landslides caused by the Penha tropical storm affecting the country. In a statement from the Philippines Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, it was noted that approximately 460,000 people have been affected by the tropical storm, and 16,528 families have been evacuated to safe areas.
