Turkey is discussing 87-year-old S.C., who benefited from state resources using the identity information of her brother H.E., who passed away 65 years ago in Yozgat. New developments have emerged regarding the incident.
4 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Smuggling and Organized Crime and Cyber Crime branches, coordinated by the Şefaatli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, determined that unfair benefits were obtained from various public institutions and organizations using the identity and bank information of H.E., who passed away at the age of 30 in 1961, since 2005.
In this context, S.C., the 87-year-old sister of H.E., along with her son A.E. (53), daughter Z.D. (64), and grandson L.R.O. (25), were detained yesterday at their residences in Yozgat, Kayseri, and Ankara, and were referred to the courthouse.
STOLE UNTIL EARTHQUAKE AID
During searches at the suspects' addresses, 4 mobile phones, 4 SIM cards, 2 bank/credit cards, and an identity card belonging to someone else were seized.
It was stated that the suspects opened bank accounts in the name of the deceased woman, received salary, earthquake aid, home care assistance, and aid from the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation, causing the state to incur approximately 15 million lira in losses.
JUDICIAL CONTROL FOR THE DETAINED
The suspects, brought before the peace criminal court on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "qualified fraud," "forgery of official and private documents," and "misuse of bank and credit cards," were released under judicial control measures.
