After arguing with his aunt in Beyoğlu, Ümit İmrağ was stabbed in the leg and died from blood loss in the hospital. The aunt, İsmihan K., who was released after her statement that she had stabbed him, was re-arrested upon the understanding that İmrağ had been stabbed from behind the leg. Meanwhile, it was revealed that İsmihan K. had shared on social media, "I will cut all of you, I won't remember anything by morning."
The incident occurred on Saturday, January 17, at around 03:15 in the Kulaksız neighborhood of Beyoğlu district in Istanbul. According to the information obtained, İsmihan K. (31), who lost her husband 6 months ago, started living with her 1-year-old daughter. On the day of the incident, around 02:40, Ümit İmrağ (21) entered his aunt's house while İsmihan K. was not at home. About 10 minutes after İmrağ, İsmihan K. entered the house. For an unknown reason, a dispute broke out between İmrağ and İsmihan K. In the altercation, Ümit İmrağ was stabbed in the leg.
DIED FROM BLOOD LOSS
Following the incident, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon İsmihan K.'s notification. Ümit İmrağ, who received first aid at the scene, could not be saved despite all interventions at Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital. It was learned that Ümit İmrağ died due to a severed artery and severe blood loss from the stabbing. İmrağ's funeral was held on Sunday, January 18, after the afternoon prayer at Kasımpaşa Mosque and he was buried at Kulaksız Cemetery.
SAID "HE INJURED HIMSELF WITH A BREAD KNIFE"
After the incident, the Beyoğlu Public Order Bureau teams initiated an investigation and detained İmrağ's aunt, İsmihan K. The woman stated in her testimony that there was a dispute with İmrağ, who forcibly entered her home, and that İmrağ injured himself with a bread knife and called the health teams. İsmihan K.'s neighbor, Öznur S., stated in her testimony that she heard screams from the opposite apartment saying, 'Ümit, what did you do?'
POLICE SUSPECTED MURDER
Police teams determined that no one else entered the house during their investigation. İsmihan K., whose statement was taken at the police station, was released by the prosecutor's decision. Following the investigation conducted by the Beyoğlu Public Order Bureau and Kulaksız Police Station teams, it was found that Ümit İmrağ was stabbed from the back of his right leg, making his death suspicious. Subsequently, İsmihan K. was detained again by the prosecutor's decision.

İsmihan K., who was taken into custody and subjected to legal proceedings, was referred to the courthouse. İsmihan K., who was brought to court, was arrested and sent to prison for the crime of 'intentional killing'. On the other hand, it was learned that the deceased Ümit İmrağ had 17 records for similar crimes such as 'theft' and 'drug use', while his aunt İsmihan K. had 4 records for 'intentional injury'.
It was seen that İsmihan K. shared a photo of herself on a social media platform with the note, "I will cut all of you, I won't remember anything by morning, that much."
HIS WIFE DIED FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK
Moreover, it was revealed that İsmihan K.'s husband, Doğukan K., whom she married in December 2024, passed away about 6 months ago. It was determined that Doğukan K., who was trying to escape from a General Information Check (GBT) due to a confirmed prison sentence while wandering in Fatih, died after being electrocuted in a transformer. It was learned that Doğukan K. and İsmihan K. had a 1-year-old daughter.

The couple Ebru-Erol Erkartal, who spoke about the incident, said, "It happened at 2 o'clock. We only heard the girl scream. When the child entered the house, they immediately fought inside. His leg was cut off from here. They say he died. We don't know those people at all. The girl was screaming, 'Ümit, why did you do it?' She was screaming. We got up after hearing the sounds. We heard that the child was already dead there. This incident happened after the fight, but they weren't living together normally. Apparently, the child was entering and leaving their house. They must have loved each other, according to what we heard."

A female resident of the building said, "We really heard it, but we were afraid to go down. Ambulances came, police came. They were screaming that the child's leg was bleeding. They were saying to call the police. They stabbed the child in the leg with a knife. They just arrived here. They didn't stay long. His wife had already died a long time ago."
