The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for 9 provinces and an orange alert for Muğla due to expected heavy rain and thunderstorms in the northern and western parts of Turkey. Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated that the rainfall will become effective after noon, saying, "The amount of precipitation will exceed 100 kilograms in some areas. This falls into the category of extremely heavy rainfall."
According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology; Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean, the west of Central Anatolia, and the west of the Western Black Sea will experience rainy weather. The rainfall is expected to be strong in the west of Marmara and the south and west of the Aegean, while it may be very strong and locally severe along the coasts of Muğla.
According to inspections; in some districts of Edirne, Çanakkale, Balıkesir, Kırklareli, the west of Tekirdağ, İzmir, Aydın, Muğla, and Denizli, rainfall may reach up to 60 kilograms per square meter. In the districts of Marmaris, Fethiye, Ortaca, Dalaman, Köyceğiz, and Ula in Muğla, this amount may rise to 100 kilograms.
STORM AND TORNADO RISK
The meteorology department warned citizens that strong southern winds and storms could reach speeds of 70 km/h, and there is a risk of flooding, waterlogging, lightning, hail, and tornadoes along the coastal areas.
YELLOW CODE FOR 9 CITIES, ORANGE CODE FOR MUĞLA
The report issued a yellow code warning for İzmir, Muğla, Aydın, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Denizli, Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ. An orange alert was issued for Muğla due to the high risk.

Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated in a live broadcast that the rainfall will intensify during the afternoon hours:
"The amount of rainfall will exceed 100 kilograms in some regions. This falls into the category of extremely heavy rainfall and may cause flooding. Citizens should heed the warnings from Meteorology, avoid parking their vehicles under trees, and secure their boats."
RAIN IS MOVING TOWARDS ISTANBUL
The downpour that started at night in Edirne and Kırklareli continues to have an effect. In Istanbul, rainfall is expected to continue until the evening hours. It is predicted that temperatures in the western regions will drop by a few degrees.
