Yavuz Ağıralioğlu, the leader of the Key Party, who was a guest in the Haberler.com studio, made noteworthy comments regarding the dismissed Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. In response to the question, "Is İmamoğlu being held unjustly?" Ağıralioğlu stated, "The state must account for every penny. However, when they only hold the opposition accountable in politics, it casts a shadow over these judicial processes, creating a feeling that the opposition is being punished."
Haberler.com News Director Olgun Kızıltepe and Melis Yaşar answered questions from Key Party Chairman Yavuz Ağıralioğlu, who made striking statements regarding the agenda.
"WHEN THEY ONLY HOLD THE OPPOSITION ACCOUNTABLE..." Stating that identity discussions should be removed from Turkey's agenda, Ağıralioğlu also made noteworthy evaluations regarding İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was dismissed as part of a corruption investigation. Ağıralioğlu expressed that the state must account for every penny, saying, "But when they only hold the opposition accountable in politics, a feeling like 'is the opposition being punished?' has cast a shadow over these judicial processes. Therefore, I had an objection when they first started. The power you have should have been moral. If you had represented the mechanism that accounts for every penny of the state for yourself, no one could have said anything to you. You had previously dismissed seven metropolitan municipality mayors. You did not hand one of them over to the court, and you did not hold one of them accountable. You dismissed your own mayors, not others, for being involved in corruption. Then you did not hold any of them accountable. When you do not hold that account, you have given people the right to say this about the account you ask from others... 'Of course, when you do it, there is no accountability, but when it comes to the opposition, you are asking for accountability,' you made them say," he stated.
"A COUNTRY CAN ONLY DEVELOP WITH JUSTICE" Continuing his words, Ağıralioğlu said, "This arbitrariness cannot govern the country." He added, "You will make the law a refuge for everyone. That is why the name of the Justice and Development Party is Justice and Development. A country can only develop with justice, that is why they named it this way. If we have not developed, it means there is a problem with our justice. Justice is something, my friend. When it is manifested somewhere, social unity strengthens. When justice is manifested somewhere, state institutions strengthen, trust in justice strengthens, international reputation strengthens, the value of money strengthens, and the state's power representing the will of the nation becomes noticeable in international accreditation. If the exact opposite is happening, it means the mechanism is working incorrectly. No one can tell you not to pursue corruption, my brother. Your duty is to account for every penny of the state. You will ask about every penny. That is true. But you will do it in such a way that justice will strengthen, social unity will strengthen, law will strengthen, economy will strengthen, interest rates will fall, and so on. If these are the opposite, it means the mechanism is not working correctly. This arbitrariness cannot govern the country," he said.
