About 100 monkeys rapidly descended from the mountain in Qianlingshan Park in China, frightening tourists. There are approximately a thousand wild macaques in the park, and they occasionally fight among themselves. Authorities are preparing a new regulation for the management of the macaque population.
Images taken in Qianlingshan Park in China showcased a large group of nearly 100 monkeys rushing down the mountain at an incredible speed. The moment left both an astonishing and frightening impression.
A tourist who took the cable car up the mountain grabbed their camera when they suddenly saw hundreds of monkeys appear around them. The video clearly shows dozens of macaques running downhill, with some sliding along the cables above the mountain.
As some monkeys jumped over barriers and moved towards the lower paths, tourists panicked and hid under shelters. The person filming said that the monkeys appeared from all directions — from behind, above, and the sides — and the chaos was spine-chilling.
According to park officials, there are about a thousand wild macaques living in the area. These monkeys roam freely, travel in groups, and sometimes fight among themselves. Officials warn visitors not to bring food and to avoid close contact with the monkeys.
Authorities are currently preparing a new regulation for managing the macaque population. While gathering public opinions, plans are underway to reduce the number of monkeys in a controlled manner, regulate their feeding habits, increase security measures, and conduct informational activities for visitors.
It has been previously mentioned that the macaque population in the area has rapidly increased over the years, straining the park's capacity and putting pressure on nature. Experts recommend gradually balancing the population to protect the ecosystem.
There have been previous problematic incidents involving monkeys and tourists. In some areas, monkeys can easily approach tourists to steal belongings or become aggressive. Recently, it was revealed that a gang of monkeys had been stealing tourists' cell phones in exchange for food.
In a more tragic incident, a baby in India was kidnapped by monkeys and thrown into a water-filled barrel, resulting in their death.
