Özlem Yıldırım, who lived in Fürth, Germany, and was undergoing psychological treatment at the University of Erlangen Medical Faculty, lost her life after being hit by a train. The death of Yıldırım, who is believed to have committed suicide, has plunged her relatives and friends into mourning. The 36-year-old Özlem Yıldırım, originally from Gaziantep, was walking on the tracks when she was struck by a train. It was reported that Özlem Yıldırım, one of three children in the Yıldırım family, was receiving psychological treatment at the Erlangen Medical Faculty due to psychological issues.
SUICIDE IS BEING CONSIDERED
The death of Yıldırım, who is believed to have committed suicide, has devastated her relatives and friends. Her brother, Ertuğrul Yıldırım, stated that Özlem was born and raised in Germany, and after graduating from college, she had a good job at a company, but started psychological treatment due to work pressure and stress.
SHE RETURNED HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT
Ertuğrul Yıldırım expressed that on the day of the incident, his sister returned home from the hospital where she was receiving treatment, and while trying to return to the hospital without entering the house, she was hit by a train while walking on the train tracks. Yıldırım said, "Problems decrease as they are shared, and joys increase as they are shared. If my sister had shared most of her problems with us, her stress would have decreased, and she wouldn't have started psychological treatment. This unfortunate situation wouldn't have happened to us."
HER FUNERAL WILL BE HELD IN HER HOMETOWN GAZIANTEP
Özlem Yıldırım's funeral will be held on Monday, December 22, following the noon prayer at DİTİB Fürth Mevlana Mosque, and she will be buried in the family cemetery in her hometown of Gaziantep.
