The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, spoke at the program themed 'Two-State Solution Proposal and Blue Homeland' organized by the MÜSİAD General Headquarters. Tatar stated that Turkey and the TRNC will continue to work together and resolutely to protect their rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean. MÜSİAD Chairman Burhan Özdemir also touched upon the historical process of the Cyprus cause.
The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) Headquarters hosted a special program themed "Two-State Solution Proposal and Blue Homeland." The event was attended by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar, MÜSİAD President Burhan Özdemir, Eurasia Strategic Research Foundation (ASAV) President Murat Doğanay, MÜSİAD members, and many invited guests.
In his speech at the program, TRNC President Ersin Tatar gave important messages regarding the Cyprus issue and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean. Tatar stated, "Turkey and the TRNC will continue on their path together and resolutely to protect their rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean."
"NO COMPROMISE ON INDEPENDENCE AND SOVEREIGNTY"
Tatar emphasized that they are resolutely defending the rightful struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people on international platforms, stating, "The Turkish Cypriot people will maintain their dignified stance under all circumstances; they will never compromise on independence, sovereignty, and security. The guarantee of peace and stability in these lands is the implementation of a structure based on a two-state solution," he expressed.
Stating that the protection of rights in the Eastern Mediterranean is not only an issue of today but also of the future, Tatar said, "The Blue Homeland vision is indispensable for the fair sharing of energy resources, the protection of our maritime jurisdiction areas, and regional stability. As Turkey and the TRNC, we will never step back from this strategy. Our responsibility to our martyrs and future generations is to carry this cause forward with determination," he added.
Tatar emphasized that the European Union has lost its status as a fair mediator in the Cyprus issue by rewarding the Greek side with membership. He pointed out that the Turkish Cypriot people have been subjected to isolation for years and that their economic and political rights have been restricted, stating, "The end of these injustices is essential for establishing a real peace environment between the two peoples. We will continue our rightful cause with the support of Turkey," he said.
"HISTORY MUST BE TAUGHT CORRECTLY TO THE YOUNG"
MÜSİAD President Burhan Özdemir addressed the historical process of the Cyprus cause, stating that caution is needed against the systematic historical manipulations of the Greek side. Özdemir remarked, "History must be taught properly to the younger generations."
MURAT DOĞANAY: TRNC IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF TURKEY'S STRATEGIC SECURITY CHAIN
After the program, ASAV President Murat Doğanay made evaluations to Haberler.com, drawing attention to the geopolitical importance of the two-state solution and the Blue Homeland vision. Doğanay stated, "The importance of the two-state solution vision in terms of international law and security must be addressed meticulously. The 'Two-State Solution' and the 'Blue Homeland Doctrine' are complementary strategies in the Cyprus-centered geopolitical context."
Emphasizing that Cyprus is a critical center in energy competition and security policies, Doğanay said, "Transporting natural gas to Europe via Turkey will provide a significant cost advantage. The TRNC is an inseparable part of Turkey's long-term energy, security, and foreign policy strategy," he expressed.
