A fighter jet belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into a university campus in the capital, Dhaka. One person lost their life in the incident, and four others were injured.

An F-7 BGI training aircraft belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into a college campus in the Uttara area of the capital, Dhaka.

According to a statement from the Bangladesh Army's Public Relations Department, one person lost their life in the accident, while at least four others were injured and taken to a military hospital.

CRASHED ON THE CANTEEN ROOF

Local media outlet Prothom Alo reported that the aircraft struck the roof of the college canteen on campus. Although this information has not yet been confirmed by official authorities, videos taken after the incident showed a large fire in the grassy area and black smoke rising into the sky.

TEAMS ON SITE

Witnesses reported that a large number of fire trucks and ambulances were dispatched to the area, and citizens were warned to stay away from the scene. Officials from the Bangladesh Ministry of Defense and the Air Force announced that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
