The General Directorate of Public Hospitals of the Ministry of Health is adding a new step to its digitalization efforts by implementing the 'QR Code Cleaning Application', which has been piloted in various provinces, across the country to make cleaning processes in hospitals faster and more efficient.
QR CODES HAVE BEEN PLACED ON TOILETS AND ELEVATORS
As part of the application, QR codes have been placed on the toilets and elevators in healthcare facilities. Citizens, patients, relatives of patients, and staff can scan this code with their mobile phones to evaluate the cleanliness status of the environment on the screen that appears, with options of 'Clean', 'Partially Clean', or 'Dirty'.
INSTANT SMS NOTIFICATIONS ARE SENT
After a selection is made, instant SMS notifications are sent to the relevant staff and managers. With this system, it is aimed to more effectively maintain hygiene standards in hospitals and to increase the satisfaction of employees, patients, and visitors.
"WE WANT TO RAISE CLEANING STANDARDS TO HIGHER LEVELS"
In a statement regarding the application, the General Director of Public Hospitals, Dr. Hakan Usta, said, "Our aim is to raise cleaning standards to higher levels. Toilets and elevators are regularly cleaned, but cleaning can only be done once every hour. We are trying to raise cleaning standards to a higher level together with our citizens and our staff, apart from the cleaning personnel, to make this a bit more widespread and create cleaner conditions," he said.
"WE HAVE SEEN A 30% INCREASE IN PATIENT SATISFACTION"
Usta stated that they implemented the application during his tenure at the Trabzon Provincial Health Directorate, saying, "We implemented this especially during my time as Provincial Director in Trabzon. We saw a 30% increase in patient satisfaction in Trabzon. I am talking about hygiene conditions. The same was true for employees, but more importantly, since you cannot assign a staff member to every toilet, by creating a situation where the cleaning done every hour is immediately addressed if it is dirty, we ensure that both toilets and elevators are used more quickly and reliably. This creates facilities that our citizens and staff can look at with more confidence and hygiene. Hopefully, as it is used more, the satisfaction rate will rise even higher with the participation of our citizens," he expressed.
