In Mersin, Melek Başlı, who had been married for 2 months, stabbed her husband Ahmet Can Başlı during an argument. Başlı, who was seriously injured, lost his life after a 15-day struggle. Melek Başlı has been arrested.
Ahmet Can Başlı (25), who was stabbed by his 2-month pregnant wife Melek Başlı (24) in Mersin, died in the hospital where he was being treated. Melek Başlı, who was taken into custody, was arrested.
DISPUTE TURNED INTO FIGHT
On August 4, an argument broke out between Melek Başlı and Ahmet Can Başlı at their detached house on 3635 Street in Şehitlertepesi Neighborhood, where they had been married for 2 months. The argument quickly escalated into a fight, and Melek Başlı stabbed her husband with a knife she took from the kitchen, injuring him in various parts of his body.
FOUND IN A POOL OF BLOOD
Upon receiving a report from neighbors who heard the commotion, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Başlı, found in a pool of blood, was taken to Tarsus State Hospital by ambulance after the first intervention. Police teams detained the suspect, Melek Başlı. After her procedures at the police station, Melek Başlı was referred to the courthouse, where she was arrested by the court.
DIED 15 DAYS LATER
Ahmet Can Başlı, who was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit after his surgery in the hospital, passed away during the night hours. Başlı's lifeless body was taken to the Mersin Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy.
