In Gabar, which meets 6% of Turkey's oil needs, drilling is being carried out by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in 41 rigs. In the 63 wells where drilling has been completed, a daily production of 58,000 barrels of crude oil is being achieved.

Hakan Vural, the headman of Kayaboyun village, stated that almost every drilling at Mount Gabar yields oil, and this situation brings great happiness to the local people, saying, "Oil is gushing in Şırnak. As you can see, there are drillings everywhere in Şırnak. Employment is increasing. The face of Şırnak will change soon, and of course, we as the people are very happy. Oil production has exceeded 58,000 barrels. We, as the local people, are very happy. Hopefully, it will also make a significant contribution to the national economy.
