After a football training session in Konya, 13-year-old Hasan Berat Güldağı suffered a fractured skull when he was hit on the head with a stone during a dispute among children, including a schoolmate. During surgery, the child's torn brain membrane was stitched up, and his skull was reconstructed with titanium pieces, while the child involved in the incident was released. After being detained for 6 days, the child’s post stating "Dad, I'm free" drew attention.

On December 8, Monday, an incident occurred in Konya where Hasan Berat Güldağı (13), an 8th-grade student at Meram Mehmet Beğen Middle School, went to football practice with T.F., a 13-year-old who is also in the 8th grade.

HE CRUSHED HIS FRIEND'S HEAD WITH A STONE

According to allegations, after the practice, T.F. threw a stone at Hasan Berat's leg. When Hasan Berat reacted, T.F. hit him on the head with a stone he picked up from the ground and fled the scene. Hasan Berat, who suffered a deep wound on his head, was taken to the hospital for treatment. Hasan Berat Güldağı's shattered skull was reconstructed with titanium pieces. It was learned that Hasan Berat, who was kept in intensive care for 5 days and then under observation in a normal room for another 5 days at Konya City Hospital, has a risk of permanent damage.

"HIS SKULL WAS FRACTURED AND HIS BRAIN MEMBRANE WAS TEAR"

Describing the day his son was injured, father Taha Yasin Güldağı said, "I was in the market that day. I received a call from Meram State Hospital, the security called and said, 'Your son fell, you need to come to the emergency room.' As I was heading to the emergency room, they called me repeatedly saying, 'Hurry up, be quick.' When I arrived at the emergency room, I realized that my child's situation was worse than just a fall. The doctor immediately requested a tomography, and we found out that my child's skull was fractured, shattered, and that there was air in the brain due to a tear in the brain membrane. They transferred us urgently to Konya City Hospital. After arriving at Konya City Hospital by ambulance, our neurosurgeon came and directly admitted my child to intensive care. After tests, they said there was bleeding in the brain and that they couldn't operate immediately due to this bleeding. They said they would keep him in intensive care with medication and would operate later. They called me around 6 in the morning to say they would take him for surgery again, and he went into surgery. After the operation, our doctor explained to us that the fractures in the skull were so fine that they couldn't place the bones back, so they had to use titanium pieces and stitched the torn brain membrane. Our operation went well, the doctor said," he added.

"HE POSTED 'DAD RELEASE' ON HIS ACCOUNT"

Father Taha Yasin Güldağı continued: "According to what my son told me, there was a football practice school selection. They were coming out of the school selections together with his friend. While joking, this friend threw a stone at his foot, causing him pain, and he turned around asking, 'Why are you throwing?' At that moment, he lifted a larger stone from the pavement and hit him on the head. I handled the hospital matters, and after we settled the intensive care issues, I went to the police station to file a complaint. After the complaint, our police took the child to the juvenile department. In the morning, the prosecutor issued an arrest warrant, requesting him to be tried in custody. Due to his custody trial, they arrested the child, but what I don't understand is that while we were still in the hospital, they released this child. On this child's Instagram page, he posted 'dad release' as if he had done something good, and added a mafia-type song to it," he said.

"I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL"

Hasan Berat Güldağı, who was injured in the incident and spent 5 days in intensive care, said, "We initially went to school practice. After we came out together, at first, he threw a handful of stones at my foot. Then I stood there and looked, I went to him. I said, 'What are you doing, you prevented me from walking?' Then he came to me, lifted a big stone, and hit me on the head. After that, I bled a lot, and the ground was all blood. Everyone helped, I pressed with a tissue, and then some girls came and took me to the hospital in their car. After that, they stitched me up. I stayed in intensive care for 5 days, and then I stayed in the normal ward for 5 days. I really don't want to go to school; this situation could happen again. The one who did this to me today could do it to someone else tomorrow," he said.
