A truck that exited the highway in the Efeler district of Aydın flew onto the railway without making a turn and traveled approximately 40 meters. As a result of the accident, the truck driver lost his life, and train services between Aydın and Denizli were halted.
In the Efeler district of Aydın, a truck in motion flew approximately 40 meters straight after exiting the highway roundabout. The driver of the truck, which was left hanging over the railway, lost his life, and train services between Aydın and Denizli were mutually suspended due to the accident.
BROKE THE METAL BARRIERS AND CROSSED TO THE RAILWAY
The accident occurred around 23:40 at the Pınardere Junction on the Aydın-Denizli highway in the Efeler district. According to the information obtained, the truck with license plate 45 AKC 644, driven by Yunus Uğurlu (28), who was carrying a trailer with license plate 35 BHM 182, flew directly onto the train tracks without turning at the Pınardere Junction while exiting the highway to enter the Aydın-Denizli road. The truck first broke the metal barriers on the roadside and then seemingly flew over the approximately 3-meter high and 15-meter long pit between the highway and the railway. The truck, which managed to stop by getting caught on the railway tracks, crushed the tons of cargo in its trailer like paper.
POWER TO THE ELECTRIC LINES IN THE AREA WAS CUT, TRAIN SERVICES WERE CANCELLED
After citizens who witnessed the accident reported the situation to the 112 emergency line, health, fire, AFAD, and security teams were dispatched to the area. Health teams, who arrived at the scene shortly, determined that truck driver Yunus Uğurlu had lost his life. The unfortunate young man's body was quickly removed from the place where he was trapped by the fire and AFAD teams.
During this time, due to part of the truck remaining on the railway, train services between Aydın and Denizli were cancelled. The power to the electric lines in the area was cut. It was announced that train services between Aydın and Denizli would be cancelled until the rescue operations were completed and the damaged tracks were repaired.
