Among the reasons for the cancellation request are adverse weather conditions, the scheduling of the matches, and the clubs going through a difficult period in terms of squad. Additionally, the low interest of fans in the matches was cited as one of the most important factors.

In the semi-final of the 2025 Turkcell Super Cup, which will be held for the first time in its new format, Galatasaray will face Trabzonspor on Monday, January 5, and Fenerbahçe will face Samsunspor on Tuesday, January 6. Despite the tickets being put on sale, it was stated that only 5,000 tickets for the Galatasaray - Trabzonspor match have been sold so far, and fans have not shown the expected interest in the matches.
