The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that a lawsuit has been filed against two individuals who are alleged to have obtained benefits by promising to 'arrange' the release of detained defendants. It was stated that one of the individuals facing charges was a police officer serving at that time.

The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit against two suspects who allegedly obtained benefits from families by promising to release detained defendants from prison.

According to a statement made by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a lawsuit has been filed against those who obtained benefits by promising to secure the release of detained individuals.

A LAWSUIT HAS BEEN FILED AGAINST TWO INDIVIDUALS

According to the indictment, the suspects A.D. and H.K., who was serving as a police officer at the time of the incident, acted in concert and contacted the relatives of individuals detained in investigation file number 2020/7486. It was stated that the suspects claimed to know public prosecutors working at the courthouse and obtained benefits from the victims by asserting that they could facilitate their release through these individuals.

The statement made is as follows: "The suspects A.D. and H.K., who was a police officer at that time, acted in concert and under the pretense of securing the release of individuals detained in our Chief Public Prosecutor's investigation file number 2020/7486 through public prosecutors they knew at the courthouse, obtained benefits from the relatives of these individuals, unlawfully accessed personal data, and violated the confidentiality of the investigation in connection with the incident dated 02.10.2021. As a result of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the crimes of 'Unlawfully Obtaining and Disseminating Personal Data, Fraud by Claiming Relationships with Public Officials and Promising to Facilitate Certain Work, and Violation of the Confidentiality of the Investigation' under Articles 136/1, 158/2, and 285/2 of the Turkish Penal Code, a public lawsuit has been filed against the suspects A.D. and H.K. at the Bakırköy Heavy Penal Court on 18.12.2025."
