Marek Suski, a member of the Law and Justice Party in Poland, insulted the members of the Polish Parliament's Culture, National Heritage, and Media Commission by saying, "It is impossible to work with idiots. Goodbye, idiots," and left the commission meeting.
Tension over insults occurred in the Polish parliament. Marek Suski, a member of the main opposition party Law and Justice (PiS), frequently sought the floor during the meeting of the Culture, National Heritage, and Media Commission held today, where the removal of Commission Chairman Piotr Adamowicz from his position was being discussed.
THE COMMISSION CHAIRMAN DID NOT GRANT THE FLOOR
The Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Urszula Augustyniak, who was leading the meeting, stated that the parliamentary regulations were quite clear and that they were not obliged to discuss personal matters, thus not granting Marek Suski the floor.
"GOODBYE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN"
After the vote regarding Adamowicz's removal from the chairmanship ended inconclusively, Marek Suski said, "Thank you, I am leaving this Commission. It is impossible to work with idiots. Goodbye ladies and gentlemen. Goodbye idiots," and left the meeting.
THEY TOOK ACTION FOR SUSKI'S PUNISHMENT
Following Suski's remarks, members of the coalition government's main component, the Civic Coalition, filed a complaint with the Parliamentary Ethics Commission for the punishment of the PiS deputy.
The application stated that Marek Suski had previously insulted the members of the Commission, obstructed the Commission's work, and weakened citizens' trust in democratic institutions.
