The TBMM General Secretariat announced that the administrative investigation initiated on November 20 following a complaint from an intern's family has been completed, and it was revealed that two more interns had similar complaints during the investigation, which was made public on December 10.

ATTEMPTS TO ESTABLISH CLOSENESS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA MESSAGES

In a statement from the TBMM General Secretariat, it was stated, "The administrative investigation initiated by our General Secretariat on November 20, 2025, upon a complaint from the family of an intern who served in our institution during the 2024-2025 academic year, has been completed, and the details were shared with the public in a press release on December 10, 2025."

PENALTIES SOUGHT HAVE BEEN REVEALED

In the investigation, the incident subject to the complaint was deepened, and it was found that two more interns had similar complaints. Personnel who attempted to establish closeness with interns through messages on social networks were identified; for one personnel working as a cook under the 4/A status, a proposal for 'Dismissal from Public Service' was made under Article 125 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657 for 'engaging in actions that are incompatible with the status of a civil servant and are of a nature to cause disgrace and shame,' and for two cook personnel under the 4/D permanent worker status, a proposal for termination of employment was made under the Collective Labor Agreement for 'sexual harassment.'

TWO PERSONNEL TO RECEIVE DISCIPLINARY PENALTIES

Although the allegations against them have not yet been substantiated at this stage, it was determined that actions contrary to disciplinary regulations were identified; for one cook personnel under the 4/D permanent worker status, a proposal for disciplinary action was made under the Collective Labor Agreement for 'engaging in behaviors that would undermine the reputation and trust of a public official within the institution,' and for one personnel working as a head cook under the 4/A status, a proposal for disciplinary action was made under Article 125 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657 for 'engaging in behaviors that would undermine the reputation and trust of a civil servant in the course of service.' Additionally, a copy of the disciplinary report prepared regarding the matter has been shared with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was stated that our political party groups have been informed in accordance with the principle of transparency regarding the meticulously and comprehensively conducted investigation process, and it has been expressed that all kinds of information/documents are open to sharing. It is emphasized that the TBMM administrative organization, which immediately initiated the investigation before the issue was reflected to the public, followed the allegations seriously, and applied the necessary disciplinary penalties upon the identification of actions contrary to disciplinary law, will continue to demonstrate the same determined stance in coordination with our judicial authorities against such and similar allegations of crimes in the future."
