Former HDP MP Altan Tan claimed that if the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process succeeds, the political alliance balances will change, and the DEM Party could provide the necessary support of 360 MPs for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to run again. According to Tan, during this process, the DEM Party will not support the CHP and will vote for Erdoğan to be able to run again.
Former HDP deputy Altan Tan made evaluations that will shake up the political landscape regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. Tan claimed that if the process succeeds, the balance of political alliances will change, and the DEM Party could provide the necessary support of 360 deputies for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to run again.
"ALLIANCES ARE CHANGING" Speaking to Çağlar Cilara from Ensonhaber, Tan stated:
"In 2019, Abdullah Öcalan sent a letter through Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Özcan saying 'do not take sides in this election,' meaning 'do not vote for the CHP,' yet Selahattin Demirtaş said 'attack the CHP.' In 2023, Kılıçdaroğlu received more votes in Diyarbakır, Şişli, and Kadıköy than he did before. So why are you opposing now, what are you opposing? The fear is this; alliances are changing. Previously, CHP, DEM, TİP, Kurdish Left, Turkish Left, Alevis without Ali, Kemalists… These were a block around the CHP. Selahattin Demirtaş was also part of this alliance. Now this alliance has changed."
