It was particularly emphasized that very heavy rainfall is expected in the Aegean coast and Edirne.

DATE GIVEN FOR EXPECTED SNOWFALL IN ISTANBUL

CNN TÜRK Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen made a statement to millions expecting snow in Istanbul. Şen stated that the possibility of snow would strengthen in the first month of the year, saying:

"Everyone from seven to seventy has a love for snow in Istanbul, but this year it will be earlier. This year, snow will likely come to Istanbul in the second half of January, around mid-January. Because the cold air from the poles will only start to affect our latitudes at that time, thus a milder weather is expected in December. Snow may be seen in Anatolia in the second half of December. There will be snowfall in high altitudes on Sunday. Snowfall is expected in Eastern Anatolia on Sunday."
