In the Tuşba district of Van, many animals, including a fox and a wild boar, were electrocuted after coming into contact with an energy line hanging from a fallen electricity pole. The shepherd who recorded the incident called on VEDAŞ to renew the wooden poles in the area to prevent similar accidents.
In an incident that occurred last month between the Gendelova and Gölyazı neighborhoods of the Tuşba district in Van, a fallen electricity pole belonging to Vangölü Electricity Distribution Inc. (VEDAŞ) caused the death of many wild animals due to the energy line that fell to the ground.
ENCOUNTERED WITH DEAD BODIES
In footage recorded by Erkan Kızıltaş, who is engaged in livestock farming in the area, many lifeless bodies of animals such as foxes and wild boars were seen along the line connected to the fallen wooden pole. It is believed that the animals came into contact with the fallen cable while searching for water or food.
"WOODEN POLES SHOULD BE RENEWED"
Speaking to İHA, Erkan Kızıltaş stated that the pole, which fell due to the storm, pulled the electricity line to the ground and that 6 foxes, 3 wild boars, and 1 crow were electrocuted. Kızıltaş emphasized that the old wooden poles in the area should be renewed by VEDAŞ to prevent a similar situation from happening again.
