Şengül Öz, who lives in Ankara, stated that she was sentenced to pay a monthly alimony of 12,000 TL for her two children after a lawsuit filed by her ex-husband, with whom she divorced by mutual consent in 2022, and she requested support from the authorities. Öz, who mentioned that she is unemployed and has health issues, argued that her living conditions were not taken into account and requested a reevaluation of the decision.
Şengül Öz, who lives in Ankara, stated that she divorced her husband by mutual agreement in 2022 due to "severe incompatibility" after being married for 10 years. Öz mentioned that she gave custody of her children to their father due to economic conditions, and expressed that three years after the divorce, she was forced to pay alimony for her two children as a result of a lawsuit filed by her ex-husband.
MONTHLY ALIMONY OF 12,000 TL, 9-MONTH DEBT OF 100,000 TL
Şengül Öz, who said that the court ruling resulted in a monthly alimony of 12,000 TL, stated that the past due alimony debt for 9 months has reached 100,000 TL, and with the case and attorney fees, the total debt has risen to the level of 150,000-200,000 TL.
"MY LIVING CONDITIONS WERE NOT CONSIDERED"
Öz argued that her economic situation and living conditions were not sufficiently taken into account during the decision-making process, expressing her reaction with the words, "I live in a house with a stove, I survive on social assistance. How will I pay this 12,000 TL? There will be enforcement against me, and I have no assets."
"I WANT TO TAKE CARE OF MY CHILDREN"
Öz, who stated that she could not work regularly due to health problems, said that she tries to make a living by occasionally doing house cleaning. Noting that one of her children has "Atypical Autism," Öz called out, "Let them give me the alimony, I want to take care of my children myself. Custody should be granted to me, I will be a mother to my children."
