A 43-year-old man who wanted to enter the residential complex where he lives in Kağıthane was attacked with a Kalashnikov by individuals who blocked his vehicle. A conflict broke out after the man responded with gunfire. He stated that he noticed a GPS device had been placed in his car in the morning hours. The moments, reminiscent of a movie scene, were recorded second by second by security cameras.
The Merkez neighborhood of Kağıthane district in Istanbul turned into a scene reminiscent of Texas around 00:00. Ümit E. (43) wanted to enter the site where his home is located with his vehicle bearing the license plate 34 SP 3435. The front of Ümit E.'s vehicle was cut off by another vehicle with the license plate 34 KOP 216 as he was about to enter the parking lot.
THEY OPENED FIRE WITH KALASHNIKOVS
Later, masked assailants who got out of the vehicle opened fire on Ümit E. with a long-barreled weapon known as a Kalashnikov. After Ümit E. returned fire, the assailants fled by getting back into their vehicle. Ümit E. then got into his own vehicle and continued to shoot after entering the parking lot. The moment of the armed attack, which resembled a scene from a movie, was captured by security cameras second by second.
FOUND AT THE STREET ENTRANCE
After the incident, a large number of police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The police teams, which arrived shortly, cordoned off the area and took precautions. Ümit E., who surrendered his unlicensed weapon to the police, stated that he had no enemies and that he had previously worked at a vehicle storage facility. In the investigation conducted by the police teams in the area, many shell casings were found, and a Kalashnikov was seen at the street entrance. Ongoing investigations revealed that there were 8 shells in the vehicle with the license plate 34 SP 3435 in the parking lot and 1 shell in the vehicle with the license plate 34 FGU 931 parked on the street.

On the other hand, it was learned that Ümit E., who has 3 criminal records, noticed that a GPS had been placed in his vehicle in the morning, and he removed it. Later, he reported that the vehicle he saw during the day was following him and that it cut him off on the street where the attack occurred. The Organized Crime Fighting Branch teams started working to capture the assailants.

Speaking about the incident, Yakup Haydaroğlu said, "While I was at home, I heard sounds that I thought were from a long-barreled weapon. When I went out to the balcony, I heard a woman screaming. There was a woman and a man in the vehicle. They came in another vehicle and shot at the one entering the site. When the gunshots were heard, everyone came downstairs. When I looked from the balcony, the assailants threw the gun on the ground and fled. As far as we could see, there were no injuries. The people in the vehicle were screaming for help," he said.
