In order to prevent fake listings and speculative price increases in the real estate sector, an Electronic Listing Verification System is being implemented. With the regulation starting on February 15, homeowners will be required to verify through e-Government before posting listings. Industry representatives anticipate that approximately 200,000 listings will be removed with the implementation of the new system.

In order to prevent fake listings and speculative price increases in the real estate sector, the scope of the Electronic Listing Verification System (EIVS) implemented for rental properties is being expanded. In three days (as of February 15), the system will also be mandatory for listings of properties and land for sale.

TO BE IMPLEMENTED NATIONWIDE FROM FEBRUARY 15

The EIVS, which was launched last year for rental property listings, was established to prevent unregistered trade and ensure listing security. With the new regulation, the application will also cover listings of properties and land for sale.

The system for listings of properties and land for sale was tested in three pilot provinces on February 1. As of February 15, it will be mandatory for all real estate listings for sale across Turkey. After this date, property owners and authorized individuals will be required to use the system to make listings.

200 THOUSAND LISTINGS WILL BE REMOVED

Industry representatives predict that the application may lead to a decrease in the number of listings. According to experts, there are currently about 1 million listings of properties for sale, and with the implementation of the system, especially as duplicate and unauthorized listings are filtered out, a decrease of up to 20% in the number of listings may occur.

Experts emphasize that this decline does not mean a contraction in the market; on the contrary, it will ensure that real and verified listings stand out.

AUTHORIZATION WILL BE GIVEN THROUGH E-GOVERNMENT

Under the new application, property owners who wish to make listings will log into the Web Title system via e-Government. From the "Authorization Transactions" section, they will be able to assign sales authorization to themselves, a relative, or a real estate consultant.

Once the authorization process is completed, listings can be created through internet portals. The issued authorization document will be valid for a maximum of three months.
