In a statement regarding the agenda at the party's group meeting, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli closed the door to calls for early elections. In his statement, Bahçeli said, "The timing of the election is clear; early elections will never be on the agenda. Although the CHP Chairman may try to open the door to elections, we, as the People's Alliance, know that the door we will be knocking on is the main door of Turkey and the Turkish Century."
In a statement during the group meeting of his party at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli also responded to the opposition's calls for early elections.
Bahçeli stated, "The CHP Chairman's fixation on the early election mantra and making futile calls to me is pure political foolishness. The timing of the election is clear; early elections will never be on the agenda. Even if the CHP Chairman tries to open the door to elections, we, as the People's Alliance, know that the door we will seek is the main door of Turkey and the Turkish Century," he expressed.
Highlights from Bahçeli's statements;
"I greet all our brothers with the best of our greetings and express my gratitude. The Nationalist Movement Party and the People's Alliance are the political poles of all Turkey. Every person is like a raindrop. Some fall into the mud, while others fall into a rose garden. Our door is closed to muddy mentalities.
"NO ONE IS SAFE IN AN UNSTABLE WORLD"
The historical threshold that my Turkey has crossed imposes undeniable responsibilities on all of us. After knowing how to carry it, there are two types of consciousness in a person: one is the consciousness of justice, and the other is the consciousness of history. The definition and description of the intellectual leap that will occur in this bed resembling a lighthouse is, of course, and definitely, nationalism itself. No one is safe in an uneasy and unstable world.
STATEMENT ON A TERROR-FREE TURKEY
Seeking original, self-confident, and value-based projects instead of dry imitation is a primary responsibility. A terror-free Turkey and terror-free region goals are a move to take ownership of the destiny of the Turkish nation. The republic and democracy are each other's insurance, and clean and moral politics is the insurance of each. Those who do not accept the culture of unity and solidarity or appear to do so while constantly backtracking are supporting anarchy, not democracy.
"THE PURE-HEARTED SEE BETTER"
We listen to both what is said and what is not said. The only way to establish developmental collaborations is to take steps towards understanding. The pure-hearted will see better and hear better, facilitating understanding.
"A HISTORICAL OPPORTUNITY DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED"
There is absolutely no good faith in trying to bring the known events in Syria to Turkey and provoke our Kurdish brothers. It is a gross negligence to associate our Kurdish brothers with the terrorist organization YPG. A new equation and a new structure have emerged in the Syrian Republic. It has become clear that there will be no state within a state in Syria. A historical opportunity door has been opened. Provocation is possible and should be expected in Syria as well.
"THOSE WHO FUEL THE FITNA WILL LOSE"
Those who fuel the fitna will lose. Did the call on February 27 become binding for all components of the organization along with the PKK? It did. Since the purpose has been achieved, it is now our duty to demand and expect respect for the founding leadership of the PKK and all organizational extensions from the DEM Party.
