The allegations of bribery and irregularities against former Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem in Bursa have caused a significant stir. Emin Adanur, a businessman from Bursa who testified as a witness, claimed that former mayor Erdem transferred the properties he obtained in exchange for benefits through zoning regulations to his girlfriend Zeynep Terzioğlu, whom he later married. Erdem had married his girlfriend Zeynep Terzioğlu just one week after divorcing his first wife.

ALLEGATION OF IRREGULAR ZONING INCREASE According to the allegation, an irregular zoning increase was provided for a construction project operating in the Balat neighborhood of Bursa. In return for this increase, it was claimed that the relevant company gave Turgay Erdem an apartment and a shop. The allegations included that these properties were acquired as part of the bribery.
TRANSFERRED PROPERTIES TO HIS GIRLFRIEND Witness Emin Adanur claimed that Erdem transferred the alleged apartment and shop to Zeynep Terzioğlu, who was his girlfriend at the time. Adanur stated that he learned about this situation through the land registry records.
According to Adanur's claim, he contacted Terzioğlu, who was working as a clerk in a library affiliated with the Nilüfer Municipality at that time, to inquire about the situation. It was alleged that Terzioğlu used the expression, "Will it come out if investigated?" during this conversation.
ALLEGATION OF TITLE DEED TRANSFER Furthermore, it was claimed that Zeynep Terzioğlu later transferred the title deeds of the mentioned properties to other individuals. This development was alleged to have been made to avoid a possible investigation.
Turgay Erdem and his wife Zeynep Terzioğlu MARRIED 1 WEEK AFTER DIVORCE Details about Turgay Erdem's private life were also among the allegations. It was stated that Erdem divorced his first wife Serpil Erdem in 2021 and married Zeynep Terzioğlu one week after the divorce. The couple was reported to have tied the knot in a ceremony held at a hotel in Mudanya.
