It has been revealed that Yuntai Mountain Waterfall, which is promoted as China's highest waterfall, is actually not natural and the water is supplied through a pipe. The true face of the place, visited by millions of tourists, has caused reactions while officials apologized and claimed that the pipe is used to maintain the water level of the waterfall during seasonal periods.
The 312-meter Yuntai Waterfall, known as China's "Uninterrupted Waterfall" and listed in the UNESCO Global Geopark, was found to be supplied with water through a pipe. The truth was revealed by a nature walker who exposed it with the images shared on social media.
REALIZING THEY WERE DECEIVED WHEN THEY SAW THE WATER PIPE
In a rapidly spreading video on social media, it was seen that there was a large water pipe on top of Yuntai Mountain Waterfall, which is introduced as China's highest uninterrupted waterfall. Viewers were surprised and realized that they had been deceived until now.
CONFESSING "WE USE THIS METHOD DURING DRY TIMES"
The officials of the Geopark apologized for the pipe in a statement on their social media account and said that it is difficult for the waterfall to remain the same beauty seasonally, so they resort to such a method during dry seasons.
"DISRESPECT TO NATURE AND TOURISTS"
The officials stated that the water used in the pipe is spring water and does not harm the waterfall. However, Chinese social media users reacted to this situation, commenting, "This is disrespectful to the natural order and tourists."
CHINA USES THE SAME METHOD FOR OTHER FAMOUS WATERFALLS
Examples can be found in tourist areas in China where artificial measures are taken to preserve natural beauty and provide a better experience for visitors. However, this situation leads to different opinions among tourists. In the case of Huangguoshu Waterfall in the southwest Guizhou province, water diversion practices are carried out to maintain the flow of some natural beauties.
