2 CHP COUNCIL MEMBERS IN ARNAVUTKÖY JOINED THE AK PARTY
Members of the CHP in Arnavutköy Municipality announced that they have resigned from their parties. Party members attended the press conference held at Arnavutköy Municipality. Ercan Duman and Mutlu Nak stated that they have joined the AK Party after resigning from the CHP.
"THE PERCEPTION THAT CORRUPTION HAS BEEN COVERED DEEPLY HURT US"
The council members used the following statements in their joint announcement: "Today, we are here to share an important decision we have made as a result of a long accounting and moral evaluation with the public. The recent environment of conflict and chaos within the Republican People's Party, the authoritarian understanding, the discrediting of indictments related to corruption investigations, and the perception that crimes are being covered have deeply hurt us. We believe that our political understanding should be in favor of service, transparency, and respect for the will of the people, rather than conflict, personal accounts, and power struggles."
"WE ARE IN FAVOR OF COMPETENCE, NOT AUTHORITARIANISM"
We are in favor of peace, not chaos; common sense, not conflict; consultation and competence, not authoritarianism. We believe that these values should form the foundation of our politics. Additionally, the political perception operations based on false claims, lies, and slanders by the CHP Arnavutköy District Presidency do not befit the ethics of politics and the responsibility of representation. We regret to see that this approach does not contribute to either Arnavutköy or our culture of democracy.
With this understanding, we have decided to walk together with our esteemed Mayor of Arnavutköy, Mr. Mustafa Candaroğlu, whom we appreciate for his integrity and service-oriented municipal understanding. We deemed it necessary to take this step in order to provide more services to our district and to fulfill our responsibilities to our fellow citizens in the best possible way.
In the upcoming process, we will continue our work as Arnavutköy Municipal Council Members under the roof of the Justice and Development Party, without division or alienation, solely considering the interests of Arnavutköy and our fellow citizens. We wish that this decision will be beneficial for our district, our city, and our country, and we extend our respects to the public."

With this change, the number of AK Party council members in Arnavutköy Municipality has risen to 22, while the number of CHP council members has decreased to 11.
