Kasımpaşa's head coach Emre Belözoğlu said after the Göztepe match, "Both teams' players put forth their best effort. Unfortunately, we faced a referee who was ruthless towards Kasımpaşa and showed no hesitation."
In the 29th week match of the Trendyol Super League, Kasımpaşa drew 3-3 away against Göztepe. After the match, Kasımpaşa's head coach Emre Belözoğlu made statements at the press conference.
''THE REFEREE SCREWED KASIMPAŞA''
Evaluating the game they played, Belözoğlu reacted to referee Çağdaş Altay, saying, "It was a match where we got the reward for our football. We found very comfortable positions to make the score 3-1, 4-1, or 5-1. Our opponent is a strong club with dynamic players who have a single plan that they have been implementing for two years and are well-managed. Despite being a team that created a big difference in the last two seasons of the league, we were the only side that deserved to win today. Both teams' players put forth their best effort. Unfortunately, we faced a referee who screwed Kasımpaşa and was not hesitant about it at all. I am really sorry for the 22 players who fought hard; they did not deserve such a poor referee," he said.
''THE REAL TURNING POINTS OF THE MATCH WERE THESE''
Emphasizing the turning points of the match and referee mistakes, Belözoğlu stated, "Within the match, apart from the referee's mistakes, I did not see many points where Kasımpaşa could break. We already have a narrow squad, and our left-back has been injured for six weeks. We had to take him out of the game because he cramped up. We might have quickly switched to a five-man defense, but at that moment, a penalty situation occurred. Besides that, I honestly don't know how the score got to 1-0. The opponent had no position in the game or any situation that threatened us. We made the score 3-1, and from that point on, there was no possibility of the game being 3-2. I don't want to talk too much since the penalty decisions are clear, but in the second half of the match, when the score was 3-1, there was a referee who did not send Miroshi off for a second yellow card. I think these were the real turning points of the match. I believe we analyzed the opponent well according to our knowledge along with our players. Despite facing a strong team, we were clearly the superior side," he expressed.
