IT WAS THE MOST STRIKING SECTION

This year, in the Turkey section of the "Leaders' Messages Special Booklet" prepared for the G20, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech at the United Nations General Assembly was featured. Erdoğan's article, which includes the message of "Building a fairer, more inclusive world," became one of the notable sections of the booklet.

Additionally, the Turkey section extensively covered President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's evaluations regarding global security, trade, energy, climate, technology, and multilateral diplomacy.

In his speech, President Erdoğan emphasized Turkey's responsibilities as "a clear security provider country" in the international system, stating that they continue to contribute on many platforms, from the United Nations to NATO, from the OSCE to European Union missions.

In the booklet, the following sections from President Erdoğan's speech were included:

"In his speech, President Erdoğan stated that as a clear security provider country, we continue to contribute to the operations and missions of the United Nations, NATO, OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe), and the European Union. We will host the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara. We continue to strengthen our relations with our NATO ally, the USA, in many areas, especially trade, investment, energy, and defense industry. Increasing protectionist trends in international trade and disruptions in supply chains are leading to profound changes in the global economy. We support the reform of the rules-based international trade system, including the World Trade Organization, to successfully overcome the current challenges. I believe that access to affordable, secure, and sustainable energy is essential for developing countries to achieve their development goals."

We are resolutely implementing the strategically important Trans-Caspian East-West-Central Corridor project, which extends from China to Europe. We are contributing to the development of global trade with our modern transportation infrastructure and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway.

With the goal of building a nature-respecting future, we are resolutely progressing towards our 2053 Net Zero Emissions target. We are also pleased to support the Zero Waste Initiative, which was launched under the leadership of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan and is reaching more people and hearts every year, raising awareness worldwide. In this process, it has become a necessity for developed countries to fulfill their responsibilities, not a choice.

MESSAGE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

As one of the countries that contribute the most to global development aid, we are working to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

We advocate for the global financing system to be aligned with the principle of "leaving no one behind" to achieve the 2030 goals and ensure that hundreds of millions of people around the world can lead a dignified life.

While dealing with geopolitical challenges, humanity is witnessing an extraordinary leap in the field of artificial intelligence.

No society should be deprived of the transformative power of these technologies that will change the face of our world and the benefits they offer. Artificial intelligence technologies should be used for the benefit of humanity, not as a new tool of oppression.

The United Nations Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries, hosted by Turkey, plays an important role in closing the digital and technological gap.

I believe that the Digital Rights Convention for Children that we have prepared and opened for signature will create global awareness.

On the other hand, in today's world, where racism, xenophobia, and especially Islamophobia have reached alarming levels, combating these movements that threaten the culture of coexistence has become a necessity for humanity.

"RESTORING THE SPIRIT OF THE UN IS OUR COMMON RESPONSIBILITY"

The United Nations, established to ensure that humanity does not experience the calamity of war again, is rooted in values that will illuminate the dark period we are in. We fully support Secretary-General Guterres' United Nations 80 Initiative, which aims to make our organization more effective and efficient. I hope this initiative will succeed as a process that will further strengthen all activities of the United Nations. Until a system is established where the right is strong, not the strong is right, we will continue to say 'The world is bigger than five.' Our duty is not to abandon the system but to repair and restore it. Undoubtedly, a fairer world is possible. Turkey will patiently continue its struggle for the construction of a fairer world."

SESSION ON "A FAIRER AND REASONABLE FUTURE FOR EVERYONE"

The title "A Fairer and Reasonable Future for Everyone," which is among the main sessions of the summit, also refers to President Erdoğan's long-standing call that "The world is bigger than five" and "a fair world is possible." In the session, topics such as reducing inequalities in the global economic system, sustainable development goals, and managing digital transformation inclusively are expected to be evaluated.

DENSE DIPLOMATIC TRAFFIC

During the summit, leaders will come together in different sessions today and tomorrow. President Erdoğan is also expected to engage in bilateral meetings and speak in general sessions throughout the day.

South Africa, which is hosting the G20, has placed the fight against inequalities and fair development at the center of the summit.
