During the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, it was decided that the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission would visit İmralı. In the commission, there were 32 votes in favor, 3 abstentions, and 2 votes against. The AK Party representative in the delegation going to İmralı has been announced. The AK Party will be represented in the delegation by Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman.
The AK Party has determined the name of the member who will be part of the delegation from the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission that will go to İmralı.
The AK Party has informed the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) that Deputy Chairman and Hatay MP Hüseyin Yayman will be part of the delegation from the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission going to İmralı. It was stated that Hüseyin Yayman was reported for the delegation considering his previous work related to the process, his experience, and his academic background.
The National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission met under the chairmanship of TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş and decided to go to the İmralı High Security Prison with a qualified majority of 3/5 of the total number of members. The Presidency of the Assembly had requested that the representatives going to the İmralı High Security Prison be reported by the party groups by tomorrow morning.
"THE DATE OF THE VISIT IS NOT CLEAR"
After the meeting, DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit made evaluations, stating, "I wish it to be beneficial. We voted for the trip to the island, and the 'yes' vote was given, it was accepted. I hope it contributes to our country and our peace. The decision made by the CHP will be evaluated later by our Co-Chairs. Political parties with groups will be present at the visit. The date of the visit is not clear; preparations are being made. By tomorrow, all political parties will specify their names to the Presidency of the Assembly. After that, the travel planning will be made," she said.
NAMES FROM MHP AND DEM PARTY ARE ALSO REVEALED
The names from MHP and DEM Party going to İmralı have also been revealed. MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız stated, "The voting result should be 'complete', an open vote should be held. I will go on behalf of the MHP." DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan also announced that her party will be represented in the delegation by Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit.
CHP IS NOT GOING TO İMRALI
The CHP has also made its decision regarding the İmralı visit. CHP Group Deputy Chair Murat Emir stated that his party will not send a representative to İmralı. In the statement made by Emir, it was expressed, "We do not find it appropriate to provide a member for the Commission to go to İmralı."
