Arçelik has decided to close its refrigerator manufacturing facility in the Rayong region of Thailand. Announcing that production will be completely terminated by December 1, 2025, Arçelik will pay $3 million in severance and notice to its 411 employees.
Arçelik has decided to halt operations at its refrigerator manufacturing facility located in the Rayong region of Thailand as part of its global efficiency and optimization strategy.
PRODUCTION WILL COMPLETELY STOP IN 2025
In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Arçelik announced that production at the refrigerator facility in Thailand will be completely terminated as of December 1, 2025. The company stated that the existing capacity will be transferred to Arçelik's other production facilities.
EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS OF 411 EMPLOYEES WILL BE TERMINATED
As part of the closure decision, it was announced that the employment contracts of 411 employees working at the Rayong facility will be terminated. Arçelik reported that the total cost of severance and notice pay to be paid to this personnel will be approximately 3 million dollars.
OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE IS BEING REORGANIZED
The company management emphasized that this step is part of the process of "reorganizing the global operational structure." Arçelik also stated that the closure is not expected to create an unexpected negative impact on production volume and sales.
ARÇELİK'S KAP STATEMENT
Arçelik's KAP notification was shared as follows:
"As a result of the analyses conducted within the scope of Arçelik's global efficiency and optimization efforts; it has been decided to halt production at the Refrigerator Facility located in Rayong, Thailand. It is planned to transfer the capacity utilizations at the facility to other facilities owned by our Company."
