A red notice has been issued for former football player Batuhan Karadeniz as part of an investigation into allegations that he made illegal betting and gambling-promoting posts on social media, advertised illegal betting sites, and committed the crime of 'money laundering from criminal proceeds.' Additionally, all of Karadeniz's assets have been seized.

In the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau, it was determined that Karadeniz made posts promoting illegal betting and gambling through his social media accounts, published advertisements for illegal betting sites, and laundered assets derived from crime.

A RED NOTICE WAS ISSUED, ALL ASSETS WERE SEIZED

As a result, a red notice was issued against Karadeniz. With the decision given by the Peace Criminal Court, Karadeniz's movable and immovable properties, shares in companies and partnerships, deposits and investment accounts in banks and financial institutions, as well as his assets in cryptocurrency exchanges were seized.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an investigation for the crime of "promoting illegal betting" on social media. In the investigation regarding the allegation of promoting illegal betting, the identities of 23 suspects, including social media influencers and some famous names, were identified.

Among the suspects alleged to have been involved in illegal betting advertisements were singer Serdar Ortaç, presenter Mehmet Ali Erbil, former football player Batuhan Karadeniz, social media influencers İbrahim Yılmaz, Muzaffer Zorbey Erkoçlar, Sefa Caner Sarıçam, and Russian and Turkish citizen Aleksander Mensikof.

After the investigation against him was initiated, Karadeniz fled abroad.
