In South Korea, 14 people have lost their lives and 12 are missing due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall. Rescue operations are ongoing.
Due to heavy rainfall that has been ongoing for about a week in South Korea, 14 people have lost their lives in the resulting floods. The South Korean National Emergency Management Agency reported that approximately 170 millimeters of rain fell in the town of Gapyeong, located in the Gyeonggi region, east of the capital Seoul. It was also noted that landslides have occurred in the country along with the heavy rains.
NEARLY 10,000 HOMES EVACUATED IN THE AREA
Officials stated that rescue operations are ongoing, and they reported that 12 people are missing, expressing concern over the potential increase in casualties. It was recorded that approximately 10,000 people have evacuated their homes in the area, and more than 41,000 households have had their electricity temporarily cut off.
