A armed attack was carried out on the Salih İşgören Police Station in the Balçova district of İzmir. Two police officers were martyred in the attack, and two others were injured, one of them seriously. Two police officers were martyred and six people were injured in the attack on the police station in Balçova, İzmir. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the 16-year-old attacker has been apprehended.

New details about the incident that has shocked Turkey have begun to surface. In the footage of the moment the attacker was captured, it was revealed that he shouted "Allahu Akbar." During this time, as the attacker took a smoke bomb out of his bag, police officers were also heard shouting "Shoot, shoot, shoot."
IDENTITIES OF THE MARTYRED POLICE OFFICERS
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported that two police officers were martyred in the armed attack. It was reported that one of the martyred officers was 1st Class Security Director Chief Inspector Muhsin Aydemir. The other martyred officer was identified as police officer Hasan Akın.
ONE OF THE INJURED POLICE OFFICERS IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION
In the attack, police officers Ömer Amilağ and Murat Dağlı were also injured. It was reported that Amilağ's condition is critical among the injured officers. İzmir Governor Süleyman Elban stated that a citizen was also injured in the attack. Elban mentioned that the attacker, who is a third-year high school student, had no prior criminal record.
