The mother of the baby found in a cloth bag on top of a car trunk in Konya has emerged three years later. The woman, who went to the prosecutor's office, claimed that she learned she was pregnant after experiencing a sexual assault, and that after giving birth in a house, the baby was taken from her and she was threatened with death.

On the morning of August 18, 2022, police teams were dispatched to the scene following a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center about a baby found on a parked vehicle in the central Karatay district, Tatlıcak neighborhood. Upon arrival, the police teams found a baby girl placed in a bag and abandoned on the trunk of the vehicle.
After the initial intervention by the medical teams dispatched to the scene, the baby was taken by ambulance to Konya City Hospital's Obstetrics and Pediatrics Department. It was determined that the baby was born weighing 2 kilograms and 460 grams and was 1 day old.
"I BECAME PREGNANT AFTER THE SEXUAL ASSAULT I EXPERIENCED"
Three years later, 40-year-old M.D. went to the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and stated that the baby belonged to her. In her statement, M.D. explained that she is a mother of three children and works as a dishwasher in a restaurant, saying, "In 2021, a person named C.B. sexually assaulted me, and later I learned that I was pregnant. In the summer of 2022, my labor began, and we went to a house. A woman there helped me with my delivery. I fainted, and when I came to, my baby was not beside me."

Later, I found out after seeing the news about 'a baby left on a vehicle.' When I asked C.B., he threatened me by saying, 'If you make a sound, I will kill you and your daughters too,'" she said. Following M.D.'s statement, an investigation was launched regarding the incident.
