The exam system for commercial vehicle drivers who want to obtain an SRC certificate has been fundamentally changed. Starting from May 1, exams will be conducted centrally by ÖSYM instead of course centers, and motorcycle couriers will also be included in the application alongside truck and bus drivers. With the new regulation, the practical exam will be eliminated, and only theoretical knowledge will be assessed, the passing score will be reduced from 70 to 60, and the number of exam rights granted to candidates will be increased to eight.
Significant changes have been made to the exams for the SRC certificate, which is mandatory for drivers of commercial vehicles. With the regulation published by the Ministry of National Education titled "Regulations on Vocational Training Courses for Special Transportation Services," the exam system has been centralized.
EXAM AUTHORITY TRANSFERRED TO ÖSYM
According to the new regulation, starting from May 1, candidates wishing to obtain the SRC certificate will have their exams conducted not by course centers, but by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In addition to truck and bus drivers, motorcycle couriers are now also included in this centralized exam scope.
PRACTICAL EXAM REMOVED, SUCCESS THRESHOLD LOWERED
Only theoretical knowledge will be measured in the centralized common exam. The previously applied practical exams have been removed from the system. The required score for success in the written exam has been lowered from 70 to 60. Candidates will be considered to have passed the exam if they score 60 or above.
EXAM RIGHTS INCREASED
The number of exam rights granted to trainees has been increased from 4 to 8. Candidates who can document reasons such as illness, pregnancy, and military service will be provided with the option to freeze their registration. The education and exam processes must be completed within a maximum of one year for each term.
REGULATION ON COURSE QUOTAS
In order to prevent potential congestion with the inclusion of motorcycle couriers in the system, the number of courses has been increased based on population. It has been reported that course fees will be determined by commissions established within the governorate every January.
